TARGET GROUP:

Senior engineering cadets, Junior Engineers, Engineer Officers and Engine room Ratings, particular beneficial to those serving on vessels that are not equipped with auxiliary boiler systems

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of English (speak, read & write) including maritime terminology
Sea going experience (level and rank depending)

EXIT LEVEL:

Knowledge and understanding of auxiliary boiler and ships steam systems.

ASSESSMENT:

Written assessment conducted on completion of course. Practical simulator exercises conducted as part of assessment.

CERTIFICATE:

SAMSA accredited certificate issued by SAMTRA

VALIDITY:

No expiry date

STCW CODE:

There is currently no legislated requirement for this course. The course does however comply with the following;
STCW Convention: Section A-III/1.
SAMSA Code: Relevant Parts of: Engineering Knowledge: Module 1.
IMO Model Course: 2.07 Engine Room Simulator.
