Admission level:
Entrants should hold a minimum of certification as ratings forming part of a navigational or engine room watch, as per STCW. Entrants should also be medically fit for sea going duties.
Objective:
To give a general introduction to offshore support vessels, design and scope of work and become familiar with the safety aspects related to these types of vessels.

- General layout, design of anchor handling supply vessels.
- Towing and anchor handling equipment.
- Chains and fittings, proper handling and inspection of wires, chains and related equipment.
- Anchor deployment procedures.
- Discharge and load procedures for cargo operations.
- Safety aspects related to anchor handling supply vessels.
- Risk assessment and case studies.
Certification:
SAMTRA certificate.
