Admission level:
Seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board ship.
Objective:
To achieve the competencies as described in the STCW and SAMSA Codes respectively.

Course Content:
- Survive at sea in the event of ship abandonment
- Minimize the risk of fire and maintain a state of readiness to respond to emergency situations involving fire.
- Fight and extinguish fires.
- Take immediate action upon encountering an accident or other medical emergency.
- Comply with emergency procedures.
- Take precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment.
- Observe safe working practices.
- Understand orders and be understood in relation to shipboard duties.
- Contribute to effective human relationships on board ship.
Test:
Continuous assessment & practical evaluation.
Certification:
SAMTRA certificate of attendance.

Course is SAMSA accredited and TETA recognised. Complies with the STCW Code regulations A-VI/1-4; A-VI/1 and A-VI/1-1
