ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of English (speak, read & write) including maritime terminology, computer knowledge, GOC certificate due for revalidation, Operational GOC operator, SAMSA letter of approval to do Refresher only
EXIT LEVEL:
Knowledge and skills required for the Global Maritime Distress & Safety System General Operator Certificate
ASSESSMENT:
Written and Practical examinations – SAMSA moderated.

SAMSA issued GOC certificate, accredited by SAMSA

COURSE OBJECTIVE:
Revise knowledge of the basic features of the Maritime Mobile Service & Maritime Mobile-Satellite Service, practical knowledge and ability to use the basic equipment of a ship station which fall under the afore-mentioned radio services, the operational procedures and detailed practical operation of the GMDSS and sub-systems – including knowledge of infrastructure, and any new miscellaneous skills and operational procedures necessary for General Communications.
